White Ants are sometimes also referred as Termites because of their appearance. As is the case with other ant species, white ants also divide labor amongst them on the basis of gender and also produce overlapping generations as well as look after their young ones.
When it comes to their food, they generally feed on dead plant material which is in the form of leaf litter, wood, soil and animal dung. They are considered as pests as they possess a potential threat and can cause serious kinds of damages to the structure of the building and even to standing crops or plantation forests.
White Ants live in colonies and at the time of maturity the entire colony can have from several hundreds to around millions of individuals. The entire colony is divided, consisting of nymphs, soldiers, workers, both male and female reproductive individuals as well as several egg-laying queens. When it comes to detecting the food source, these little creatures use swarm intelligence.
