Fire ants are aggressive kind of ants. There are around 280 species of fire ants found throughout the world. You can find people of different region calling them from different names. Fire ants are stinging ants that can kill small animals with their toxic sting and when bite humans, that pains a lot. The sensation of the pain is same as burning sensation.
You will find only one queen when the colony of fire ants starts but in a very short period of time it grows with thousands of other ants.
It is very easy to identify fire ants due to their copper brown head and body with a darker abdomen. These are even found in different sizes, existing in the same nest. Fire ants survive eating seeds, plants and other insects. These ants build their colony in soil, which sometimes can even reach over a foot.
