Know about Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants are the largest amongst the ant species. These are generally found in many region of the world. Carpenter ants are both with wings and wingless. Wingless carpenter ants move around in the home for search of food but don't nest there. Winged carpenter ants not only nest in the home but also outside of home.

Though they don't eat wood, they like to nest in wood. These ants build their home in living or dead trees, and sometimes within decaying wood inside buildings. They mostly prefer to nest in moist wood.

Carpenter ants prefer to eat protein, living and dead insects, sugar, jelly and also meat etc. Many people find carpenter ants a big pest.
